QC Breast Cancer Support Group (Iowa): First Tuesday of each month, 7-9 pm downstairs Trinity at Terrace Park, 4500 Utica Ridge Road, Bettendorf. (Illinois):Third Wednesday of each month, noon luncheon at Butterworth Center, 1105-8th Street, Moline For women dealing with breast cancer or survivors of breast cancer. Diabetes Support Group at Genesis: First Tuesday of each month, 11:00AM to Noon, Larson Center, Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL Recommended for people with diabetes who are interested in receiving help with diabetes self-management. Cost: none. Registration: 309-792-4389

Low Vision Support Group at CASI: the first Thursday of every month at CASI, 1035 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA, facilitated by Lilah Bell (Call 563-386- 7477 Ext. 231 for details or to register) Anyone with vision problems is welcome to attend.

The Genesis Support Group brings together stroke survivors and their families in an atmosphere of caring and sharing to assist recovery. Among Farmers-Saviors in the Night In partnership with the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities, we invite you to enjoy this film and refreshments. Ludi Boeken’s “Under Bauern” (Saviors in the Night) tells of farmers — unter bauern — in Westphalia who sheltered Jewish friends from the Nazis. The movie is based on Marga Speigel’s memoir “Saviour in the Night” who tells the story of how a little family survived in their hiding place because of the help of farmer families Aschoff, Pentrop, Sickmann and Silkenbömer from the Münsterland.

CANCER- Look Good…Feel Better 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 17 (Illinois) 3-5 p.m., Monday, April 5 (Iowa) This program teaches beauty techniques to female cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society, in partnership with the National Cosmetology Association and the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, train volunteer cosmetologists to teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using free cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry.
