Iowa Department on Aging Searches for Centenarians

Iowans age 100 and above will be honored at the 2013 Centenarian Honors Celebration at the Science Center of Iowa October 4, 2013. Any Iowan born in 1913, or before and not yet on the Iowa Centenarian Registry, qualifies for this milestone recognition. Per capita, Iowa ranks third in the nation in the number of centenarians. If you, a family member, neighbor or friend, has or will reach this important milestone, please contact the Iowa Department on Aging at: (515) 725-3333 or toll-free 800-532-3213. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are 846 centenarians in Iowa.

Centenarians will be invited to be guests at the 2013 Centenarian Honors Celebration reception being held October 4, 2013 at the Science Center of Iowa located in Des Moines. Along with the special celebration, they will receive a certificate signed by the Governor. Both the Governor and Lt. Governor have been invited to attend.
