Hot off the press… New Luxury Boutique Hotel coming to Downtown Davenport.

Amy & Amrit Gill (developers who own and manage the award-winning Hotel Blackhawk, Davenport Iowa) plan to open a new luxury/boutique hotel, called The Current, Iowa. The 1910 historic Putnam Building in downtown Davenport, is being renovated into a 78 Room Luxury Boutique Hotel. The developers will start hiring the Executive Team in January, with a projected opening of late June, and/or early July, 2017.

The Current, Iowa will proudly fly Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotel, the same flag that the Hotel Blackhawk flies.The tag line for the Autograph Collection is “EXACTLY LIKE NOTHING ELSE.” At present there are 130 Autograph Collection Hotels.

Innkeeper Hospitality Services (IHS) an affiliate of Restoration St. Louis, will manage the property. They are also the owner/operator of Hotel Blackhawk. THE CURRENT, Iowa will be 9 floors with 78 rooms, and will feature room for 160 parking spaces.

The summer 2017 opening will include a rooftop bar/dining experience, and the main lobby will feature a Baja inspired restaurant with floor to ceiling windows along with two private dining spaces, including the (509 sq. feet) wine and tequila tasting room. There will be a pool and fitness center in the lower level with a spa treatment room serviced by the spa professionals at Hotel Blackhawk. Meeting space is included on the 2nd floor

The 9th Floor will be our Rooftop Bar/Lounge which will feature a unique rooftop dining experience, including serving breakfast each morning, with beautiful views of the sunrise over the mighty Mississippi River.

Floor’s number 7 and 8 will each feature 14 luxury market ready apartments similar in size and finish to the Parker Building. One unique feature of our sister company, (Front Door, Iowa) is that our luxury apartments include all amenities such as sewer, water, trash, electric, washers and dryers, fitness center, WiFi and cable TV.
