Quad Cities Alzheimer’s Association – Learn about signs and symptoms, stages, diagnosis, treatment and care of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Prostate Cancer: Us, Too, Greater Quad City Cancer Support Group – Support Group for those dealing with Prostate Cancer or who had prostate cancer. Christian Care provides a confidential support group to serve and include those who have contemplated or attempted suicide or those coping with the loss of friend or family member due to suicide. Representatives from Scott County, Davenport and Bettendorf law enforcement agencies, and other senior advocates meet to discuss; scams in the area, how to be a savvy senior, identity theft and other issues. Dancing and Dance Classes

Dancing at the Viking Club – Summer Sunday afternoon dance: Music: Ken Paulsen Orchestra (expanded), along with Darlene on Piano and Vocals Date: Sunday, June 14, 2015 Time: 3-6 p.m. Cost: $10 per person. The local chapter of USA Dance is sponsoring a dance on the 2nd Saturday of each month in 2015. The cost for the dance including a Free Lesson is $10 for non-members and $7 for members. Payable at the door the night of the dance. Singles and couples of all ages are welcome.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Lesson from 7-8 p.m. and social dancing from 8-11 p.m.. DJ provides the music. Deere-Wiman Tunnel Tour available only during Museum Week (1-4 p.m., Sat., June 13 and Sat., June 20) at the Deere-Wiman House, 817 11th Avenue, Moline, Ill. No charge for admission. The first-ever Quad City Museum  Week offers visitors the opportunity to go underground at a local historic home. For two Saturdays during Museum Week (June 13-21), special tours will be given of the tunnel connecting the historic Deere-Wiman House to the Deere-Wiman carriage house. The tunnel at Deere-Wiman House is a little-known local novelty never before opened to the public. The Museum Week tour of the tunnel is limited to the home’s tunnel and basement. Visitors must be able to handle stairs and a ramp.

Family picnic June 10 Pack a picnic and bring the family to an old-fashioned summer lawn concert with a fun twist: Live music by one-of-a-kind entertainer Dave Rudolf. Kids and parents should come prepared for an active, fun night on June 10 at the Deere-Wiman home in Moline. Whether it’s singing, appearing on stage or just making noise, everybody has the opportunity to get involved in the wacky world of Dave Rudolf. Beach tunes, hula hoops, a bubble machine and interactive activities: it adds up to a rollicking good time for everyone in the family. The 6:30 p.m. concert is open to the public; there is no charge for admission. Those who attend should bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating; picnic suppers are allowed. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the Deere-Wiman Carriage House.
