Why Residents Love Living at Friendship Manor

Information from Friendship Manor

We conducted a resident survey asking what was so impressive about living at the only Illinois Quad Cities’ Continuing Care Retirement Community. Our Friendship Manor residents shared a variety of highlights and here’s what they want you to know about living in the place they call home.

Residents at Friendship Manor feel safe and the staff is helpful, kind and ready to help whenever it’s needed. Someone capable is available to help fix a problem with the air conditioning or even water plants on the patio when you get tied up for a few days! There’s a sense of peace and comfort provided by the beautifully landscaped and tidy grounds.

Experiencing a Fantasy Cruise Dinner is one of the residents’ favorite activities to do without even leaving the Manor. Organized by the Activities Department, countries are chosen by the Resident Association Activities and Culture Committee as sites for the virtual cruise and themed events are offered throughout the month celebrating that country. Residents receive a handmade passport to stamp at each cruise location they visit. They celebrate the country’s top 10 favorite foods served at monthly coffee and bon voyage events and learn about the country’s culture through documentaries and video. The most popular countries visited have been Ireland, Morocco, Belgium and Spain.

Residents celebrate their birthdays at a party held during the month of their birth date. Each assisted living, independent living, and memory care resident receives a balloon bouquet and basket filled with goodies. Those who attend the monthly party also receive a gift certificate to be used at the Manor’s Country Store, which offers a variety of snacks, groceries, gifts and household items.

Transportation is available through the shuttle service for those who enjoy making the most of an independent lifestyle. The shuttle makes regular trips to assist with shopping and recreation with door to door pick up and drop off. Residents love leaving the driving to us and can sit back and enjoy the ride.

The Manor combines two of life’s greatest joys: friendship and free time. Whether it’s woodworking or painting, fishing or dancing, and penny poker or bridge, there’s always something fun to do. Some enjoy picnics in the park or trips to events outside the Friendship Manor neighborhood to attend musical and theatrical performances at popular venues like the Music Guild and Circa ’21.

Consider visiting for a tour and complimentary lunch in our Bistro. We can’t wait to tell you “Welcome to our Neighborhood!” Call (309) 786-9667 to let us know when you’ll be stopping by.
