CASI Senior Secret Santa Now through December 11

Help a Quad City Area Senior In Need

The holiday season is the time of year when we think of those who are less fortunate. Most of our thoughts and donations go to organizations that support children, families and the homeless. But each year hundreds of Quad City area older adults go without meals, gifts, and companionship due to lack of family, friends, and financial resources. This year, the need is even bigger due to COVID-19 and the impact the virus is having on the senior population.

The Center For Active Seniors, Inc. (CASI) is working with Quad City area senior service agencies and senior living facilities to ensure that older adults are not forgotten about this holiday season through the Senior Secret Santa program.

More than 700 wishes from Scott and Clinton counties in Iowa and Rock Island, Henry, and Knox counties in Illinois have been submitted for this year’s program. The success of Senior Secret Santa program is not possible without the support of area businesses and individuals. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has had a significant impact on many of our corporate partners’ abilities to participate and we are asking you to become a Senior Secret Santa.

Please consider supporting this annual effort in one of the following ways:

• Make a monetary donation to CASI via the organization’s website, CASISeniors.org. All monetary donations for the Senior Secret Santa program will be used to purchase gifts and provide services for seniors during the holidays and throughout the year.
• Now through Monday, December 7 wish tags are available on the CASI Giving Tree. Due to COVID-19 access to the facility is limited and visitors must call in advance, wear and mask, and will only be allowed in the building to pick up tags or drop off gifts. All gifts and gift tags must be returned to CASI by Friday, December 11.
