The Ridgecrest Foundation

By Carrie Dreifurst
Development Director at Ridgecrest Village

The Ridgecrest Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that supports the efforts of Ridgecrest Village, its residents, staff, and their mission to better enrich, engage and enhance the lives of Ridgecrest residents. The Ridgecrest Foundation hosts yearly fundraisers both in person and online. Despite thechallenges of social distancing restrictions, this last year was one of the busiest! They hosted an online auction, golf outing, Dine to Donate, Birdies for Charity, Annual Dinner, and an online global day of giving called #GivingTuesday and more! Now they are focused on 2022, and the Ridgecrest Foundation predicts it to be grand. They intend to increase the amount of in person events, while keeping the traditional Annual Dinner and Golf Outing. Some new events include bowling and
additional dine to donates.

These events are intended to raise funds for the Ridgecrest Foundation. One of these funds is called the Koning Fund, which was established to help qualified residents pay their maintenance fees so they may remain at Ridgecrest Village when funds run out. There is also the “Give to Gain” fund which was created to enhance the lives of Ridgecrest residents. This fund has purchased two wheelchair bikes, dining room decorations and more! Now they are raising funds for four whirlpool spas in the assisted living facility, Oakwood Place. Lastly, they support a Nursing Scholarship program. The Ridgecrest Foundation accepts applications for tuition reimbursement or student loan repayment for qualified employees who want to further educate themselves in the geriatric field.
