Bettendorf Business Supports Bettendorf Tradition

16th Annual Run with Carl presented by Trinity Regional Health System

The Run with Carl is a Bettendorf tradition – 16 years in the making. The race draws participants and volunteers from all across the bi-state area but gains significant support from Bettendorf residents, the Bettendorf Rotary, local businesses and Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley students. Now, a Bettendorf business is stepping up their support to make this year’s race better than ever.

“Trinity wants to be there for our community not only when they’re sick, but also when they’re well,” said Bobette Shay, RN, Trinity Bettendorf Director of Operations.

Run with Carl aims to involve youth at an early age to get them excited about exercise, particularly the sport of running. “Supporting activities like Run with Carl that promote physical activity and wellness are in line with our mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve,” says Shay.

In addition to promoting health and wellness, Run with Carl organizers aim to increase participation in activities that Carl enjoyed.

“The run is a great way to get kids running. It’s a short enough distance that kids can accomplish it. Every kid who crosses the finish line receives a ribbon,” says Dick Schillig, Race Director.
