DAGOBAH is a volunteer-led group that meets on the second Monday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., at the Main Library. It tackles topics such as: movies, comics, and (of course!) books. The group has been thriving for 25 years, and would love to welcome new members.

St. Ambrose University Star Party – Night Sky Viewing Saturday, Aug. 14 – Beginning at sunset. On-site 12- and 14-inch telescopes will be available at the St. Ambrose S. G. Menke Observatory for sky viewing; visitors are welcome to bring smaller telescopes as well. Free and open to the public Wapsi River Environmental Center outside Dixon, Iowa. German American Heritage Center in Davenport, Iowa visitors can explore the museum’s 4,000 square feet of permanent and special exhibits. Visitors will enjoy an interactive experience as they learn about immigrants’ journey by sea, train and foot, to their final destination at the German American Heritage Center building, which was originally a very busy hotel for thousands of immigrants in the 1860s. The German American Heritage Center works to preserve and enrich the German immigrant experience and its impact on the American Culture.
