Hilltop Collectables – Variety and Quality

Great for gifts – Offering a unique selection for all kinds of collections

When Hilltop Collectables opened their doors in July of this year, they were no strangers to the area. Owner and President of the Hilltop Business Association, Ron McDermott had owned a previous operation for years on Harrision street, R & G Telephone. He and his wife, Carol, took advantage of rare rental space in the Hilltop and opened up a wonderful shop full of great collectables of all kinds.

You can find gifts for that avid collector, as well as home furnishings ranging from mid-modern to antique. The shop features a wide array of items for sale, from all eras.

“We don’t feature just one type or kind of collectable,” Carol McDermott tells us, “We offer a quality variety for all tastes and interests.” Both Ron and Carol have an eye for what their customers will want. Each goes in a different direction when buying for the shop, and together they really come up with a great stock of items to offer shoppers looking for something special. They have great window space facing Harrison street , and in true Quad-City tradition, they decorate for the seasons, showing off fun displays of what’s featured inside.

Being on the newly developed Harrison street corridor with new businesses and growth of established owners, the McDermotts fully believed the Hilltop was the place to begin this stage of their successful careers. Their shop offers another unique small business owner experience where you can find this one of a kind element offered in the Hilltop shops. “We wanted to be a part of the growth of successful small business in this historic district,” says owner Ron McDermott.

“Seeing the investment the city and owners are making, Ron is a crucial part of the success we are seeing in this community, “ states Scott Tunicliff , Hilltop Campus Village director. Overseeing the board and its directives, Ron invests time, effort and now his small business opportunity into the Hilltop and the future it holds for Davenport.
