In Honor of Grandparents’ Day

To help celebrate Grandparents’ Day on Sunday, September 7, here are some words of wisdom or little anecdotes. Can you relate to any of these?

  • It’s amazing how grandparents seem so young once you become one.
  • Grandpa is there to help the child get into mischief they haven’t thought of yet.
  • The good thing about being a grandparent is you always get a chair at the family reunion.
  • Many a child is spoiled because you can’t spank Grandpa.
  • The good thing about being a grandparent is you get to take naps with your three-year old grandchild.
  • When asked how old grandparents are, she replied “Some of them are not so old, but I think you are supposed to be at least fifty.”
  • The love I had with my child I thought I could give no other. Then I had a great surprise for me. I became a grandmother
  • After grandpa retired, his first grader grandson Noah knew just the right gift. Tears came to grandpa’s eyes when he unwrapped the present of official business cards with his new title: Full-time Grandpa. Noah said, “Congratulations on your retirement. Now your full time job is just being my grandpa.” Grandpa jokingly asked, “How much do I get paid?” Noah responded, “As many hugs as you want each day.” Grandpa hugged Noah and replied, “Well, I guess that means I’m a rich man.”
