On the Go With Joe Hutter

Hutter,-Joe-2014-newSeniors And Law

On October 10, Major Mike Brown retired from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. He was the chief deputy of Scott County and will really be missed. I have known Major Brown since he was in middle school. Mike has spent his life helping and working with all citizens. He has always had an interest in working with seniors and, like Sheriff Conrad, has been a supporter of TRIAD and the Seniors And Law enforcement Together (SALT) program.

Through Major Brown’s work, the Project Lifesaver Program was brought to Scott County. Project Lifesaver
provides special bracelets for those individuals that have a tendency to wander off due to a medical condition such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. It can even help with young children that are autistic and have a tendency to roam. This program helps first responders locate the individual and return them safely back home.

SALT and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office wish nothing but the best for Major Brown’s retirement. I bet he won’t be retired for long. All the best Mike. I know that the wind will always be at your back.

Please note that SALT will not be meeting in November or December of 2014. I wish you and yours the best of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and all of the Holiday trimmings. We will resume our regularly scheduled meetings on the 4th Wednesday in January at 9:30 a.m. at CASI, 1035 W. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, Iowa. We hope to see you on January 28, 2015.
