Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Quad Cities

Information from the
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Quad Cities

Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate. One out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over a lifetime–our sisters, mothers, daughters, neighbors, friends.

The Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure encourages each of you to register for the June 8th, 2019 Race. It’s a milestone year~ our 30th anniversary!

To celebrate the strides made locally and nationally in the fight against breast cancer, a post-Race party will be held in the TaxSlayer parking lot featuring food trucks, beverages, and a live band!

Since the inception of the Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure in 1990, more than $6 million has been raised, providing mammograms, life-saving services, and research to find a cure for breast cancer.

However, the work is not finished. Komen Greater Iowa receives more funding requests for grant programs than we can provide, and needs YOU to register for the June 8 Race and fundraise.

Registration is available for the 3 mile and 1.2 mile walk/run at www.komengreateriowa.org/qcrace. Turnkey fundraising tools are created for you in a personal fundraising center after you sign up, making it very easy for you to ask friends, co-workers, and family to support your efforts to
support our mission.

In addition to the races, the event also features a survivor and sponsor recognition program.

Please join us in working towards Komen’s Big, Bold Goal: to reduce the deaths from breast cancer by 50 percent by 2026.

Since the inception of Komen Greater Iowa, more than $13 million has been awarded to community programs, serving local women and men that focus on early detection, access to care, patient navigation, and health equity. Komen greater Iowa works hard to identify and target areas of greatest need for prevention programs, psychosocial support, ongoing breast healthcare, diagnosis, screening, and treatment.
