Lighting Up the Christmas Season

By Christina Sandry
Marketing Director, Chick-Fil-A, Davenport, Iowa

The Christmas season usually brings joys of family get togethers, work Christmas parties, and a myriad of events and activities to participate in to celebrate the season. But as we near the end of this year, we have seen that there has been nothing normal about 2020, and Christmas will most likely look a little different this year for many of us.

So to bring some sense of normalcy and joy to this Christmas season, Chick-fil-A Davenport is celebrating the start of the season with a Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, November 12th from 6-7pm. This event will be held in the Chick-fil-A Davenport parking lot as they celebrate the nativity and the turning on of the Christmas lights for the first time. The event will have live music along with a live nativity scene.

Every year, Chick-fil-A Davenport on Elmore and 53rd St. displays a large nativity season and lots of Christmas lights during the months of November and December to celebrate the season. All of
this is a very important part of the Christmas season for Owner/Operator Jeremy Tatman. “I decided to invest in our nativity scene and lights because some things never change- like the reason for Christmas! I want our business to be a place where people come to be fed but leave being fed and cared for. I believe these lights demonstrate our care for our community.”

The lights and nativity are put up every year by the men from the organization, One Eighty. One Eighty is a local organization that helps brings hope, love and opportunity to the Davenport community by helping to prevent, reach, and develop those who have been impacted by crisis, poverty, or addiction.

To continue the joy throughout the season, Chick-fil-A Davenport will also have live music throughout the month of December. Local schools and churches will have a chance to sign up for a two hour time slot every night until December 19th with their bands, choirs, and orchestras. More information about how to sign up for a time slot can be found at their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CFADavenport.

Chick-fil-A Davenport hopes that you would join them on November 12th to celebrate the Christmas season!
