- In 2021, January’s full moon will be January 28.
- January birth flowers are the snowdrop and the carnation.
- The Rose Parade in Pasadena has been held every year since 1890, but not in 2021. A two hour televised special will be aired.
- The Anglo-Saxons called January “Wulfmonath” because starving wolves scavenged the area.
- King Charlemagne called January “Wintermanoth” meaning “cold month”.
- January 3, 1959 Alaska became the 49th state of the United States.
