February Titles – Songs, Movies, Books

This shortest month of the year has made its way into song, movies and literature.

 

 

 

Songs

There are at least 14 song titles that contain the word February. They are: “Xmas in February” by Lou Reed, “February” by Elzhi, “February – Whateva Da Weatha” by Ramson Badbonez, “February Air” by Lights, “February Stars” by Foo Fighters, “February Song” by Josh Groben, “February” by The Wells, “February Tale” by Pill-Oh, “February Winds” by Billy Talent, “February Seven” by The Avett Brothers, “February Skies” by Wayne’s Blood, “London in February” by Coastal, “One Heavy February” by Architecture in Helsinki and “February” by The Getaway Plan.

Movies

There is a 2013 movie called, “Summer in February”. Based on the book by the same name, it is a true story taking place in Cornwall, England in 1913. An Egyptian short movie released in 2012 is called “February the 30th”. It is a comedy about two people and all of the bad luck or incidents that happen to them. Another well known movie is “Groundhog Day” the 1993 romance/comedy that took place in Punxsutawney, PA on February 2, over and over again.

Books

One book with February in the title is the aforementioned “Summer in February”. Another book published in 2009 is simply called “February” by Lisa Moore. It is a novel about an ocean oil rig that sank off the coast of Newfoundland on Valentine’s Day in 1982. The story develops around the families that were affected by this tragedy. “Fatal February” by Barbara Levenson and “February House” by Sherill Tippins are both novels containing February in the title. “Fatal February” published in 2009 is a Mary Magruder Katz mystery. Mary, the main character, is a wise-cracking legal eagle. “February House” published 2005 is a novel about many artistic souls living the Bohemian style under one roof in Wartime America.
