A Pause for Poetry

I Walk in Beauty

I am walking, walking through the
Trees, as beams of sun cut through
The boughs, the trees I walk through
On a lazuline day. The trees embower
Me in shade, dappled by the sun,
Filigreed from the beams of sun
Slanting through the forest. Trees and
Sun embrace my walk, my walk in
Beauty under the eaves of woodland
Leaves in the forest. I walk in beauty,
Through trees and sun.

Inner Beauty

Beautiful little flowers root in the
Wild crags of the soul, vivid belle
Figments of spirit, resplendent
Décor for the heart. Volunteers
Grow unbidden in the highest
Inner spaces, pristine floral glory
Unfolds within, éclat of great joy,
Zephyrs redolent of ambrosia,
Loft the heart soaring on bright
Petals, rising high in the breeze,
Higher and higher into cerulean
Canopy, into beyond and beyond.
