QC Breast Cancer Support Group Meeting in Illinois is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 11:30 am – 1 pm at the Butterworth Center, 1105 8th Street, Moline, Illinois. Meeting in Iowa is the 4th Thursday of the month, 6 pm – 7:30pm at Gilda’s Club in Genesis West, 1351 West Central Park. Call Pat Conway at (563) 355-7548.

Grief Support Group sponsored by CASI – meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Currently, this group meets at 9:30 am at the Family Restaurant, 902 W. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA. This is a FREE community service program; however participants are required to sign-up in advance by calling (563) 386-7477 ext 227 and leaving a message for Vicky Ertel. Participants are responsible for their own food and beverage costs.

Dementia Support Group at Ridgecrest meets the fourth Thursday of the month, January through October. Time is 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm in the Oakwood Music Room in Oakwood. Suicide Support Group – National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)of the Greater Mississippi Valley. The Suicide Bereavement Group is a support group for people who have survived the loss of a loved one to suicide and have found help by turning to others who have been through a similar experience. Museum Exhibits

Bettendorf Children’s Museum has many interactive and hands on exhibits and activities for youth of all ages. Exhibits include: Fox Hollow, George’s Farm, Lil ‘Ssippi River Valley, Playhouse, Outdoor Play Area, “Lucky Climber presented by Genesis Birth Center”  and “Imagination Studio” And Russell Dig Zone! Besides exhibitions and interactive experiences the museum offers many classes. They include a STEM project class, inventor’s club, Spanish for kids and creative dance classes. Davenport School Museum housed in the JBYoung Opportunity Center, 1702 N. Main Street, Davenport, is the museum for the Davenport school system. It holds many pieces of memorabilia of Davenport schools. Hours are limited: Monday 9 AM – 11 AM, Thursday 10 AM – 2 PM and Friday 10 AM – 2: PM.

Figge Art Museum – The first Thursday of every month is Free Senior Day! All seniors age 60 and up receive free admission as well as 10% off in the museum store. Current Exhibits include: Young Artists at the Figge January 27, 2024 – May 5, 2024; Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition February 17, 2024 – June 2, 2024; Revolutionary Artist: The Prison Fantasies of David Alfaro Siqueiros March 2, 2024 – June 9, 2024; Julius Schmidt, American Sculptor: Stainless Steel Sculpture. The Sculpture Garden April 13, 2024 – June 23, 2024. The Figge is located at 225 W. Second Street, Davenport.

Mississippi Spoon Museum located at 902 E River Dr, Davenport, IA. Check out a world class collection of spoons as they tell of historical events, social movements and much more. Museum hours are Sunday 11am – 5 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am – 5pm. Closed on Tuesdays. Phone 563-468-9872. Website

Putnam Museum and Science Center – The Putnam, located at 1717 W. 12th Street, Davenport, Iowa. German American Heritage Center located at 712 W Second Street, Davenport. The museum is a Victorian architecture style building that chronicles and preserves the history of German-Americans in the Midwest region. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday noon to 4:00 PM. closed Mondays.

Children’s show, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Musical, mornings, Tuesday May 7, Thursday May 9, Friday May 10, Saturday May, 11 Tuesday May 14, Thursday May 16 and Saturday May 18. Genesius Guild presents live theater at Lincoln Park, Rock Island. Euripides: June 8, 9, 15 and 16. Shakespeare: Julius Caesar June 22, 23, 29, 30. Shakespeare: Sounds and Sweet Airs July 6, 7, 13 and 14. Aristophanes: Plutus July 20, 21, 27 and 28. Shows begin at 7:00 pm. Lincoln Park is located between 38th and 42nd Streets, 9th to 11th Avenues. These are free performances, out doors.
