Best Steak Marinade
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons dried basil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoonsdried parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Directions:
- Gather ingredients.
- In blender, mix on high for 30 seconds: olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, basil, garlic powder, parsley, white pepper, garlic powder, and hot pepper sauce.
- Marinate on steaks for 8 hours.
Caramelized Onions
Ingredients:
- 3 yellow onions
- 4 Tbsp canola oil or olive oil (use what you prefer)
- Add a sprinkle of sugar to the oil. It will speed up the browning process.
Directions:
- Cut the onions in half and julienne cut each onion.
- Separate the slices.
- Heat a large, wide pan to medium-high heat (skillet works best, not a saucepan).
- Add oil to the pan. When there is a wisp of smoke, carefully add the onions.
- Stir periodically for 10 minutes, allowing the onions to color.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook until evenly caramelized for about 15 more minutes.
