Shop the quaint stores and boutiques in the Hilltop Campus Village for your holiday fashions.
We will start our shopping trip going down Harrison Street.
First stop will be Winnie’s Wishes Resale Shop located at 1605 N. Harrison. Winnie’s Wishes, somewhat new to the Hilltop Campus Village, has a brand new façade. The store is located on the east or left side of the street. There is limited parking available behind the store, a parking lot to the right on 16th street, or on-street parking on the right side of Harrison south of 16th Street. Winnie’s has a wide and ever changing selection of gently used clothing, scarves, jewelry – you might just find that perfect blazer or scarf to help complete your wardrobe! Store hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; closed Sunday.
Fabulous, fun and funky describes the next stop. We are at Hats, Hair ‘n Wigs located at 1518 N. Harrison. Gloria is the powerhouse behind this shop. With an eye for style and detail, she can find you the perfect hat, fascinator or headpiece to top off any outfit. She has beautiful wigs and fun wigs in many different colors. Gloria will also help you with your favorite hairstyle. She is a licensed cosmetologist and can give you the perfect trim, cut or style! Oh, and don’t forget the guys! She has hats for them, too. On street parking in front or there is plenty of parking in back to accommodate her clientele. Her hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
Moving on down Harrison one block, we go left on 14th Street. We have to go left; it is one way that direction. D’Allen Studios in on the corner on the right. Bass Blessed Boutique is connected. Barbara Bass manages this little gem. She carries dresses and suits for that special occasion. Not only does she have women’s sizes, she carries young girls and teen clothing. Don’t forget the men either. She has suits and hats for them. All of the accessories you might need to complete your ensemble, and that of your family can be found here. The address is 1329 Harrison Street. Store hours are: From here we will head east on 14th Street. Staying in the right lane, we will go right on Brady. Now make a right into the parking lot. We have arrived at The Estate Sale Shop. Kelly Wallace owns this place. It used to be McKay’s Music. Kelly has been will the Hilltop Campus Village since its beginnings. She is very active in the community here, establishing the Vintage Jewelry Trunk Show for the third year. This will be held on Small Businesses Saturday (November 28, this year). The store has a nice selection of vintage clothes, purses, hats, shoes and accessories. Stop by and take a look. Store hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Now it is on south a block to the corner of 13th and Brady to Rocket Resale – Vintage Store. The address is 1228 Brady Street and hours are Monday through Saturday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Here is another place to find vintage apparel and jewelry. You might also just happen to find candy dishes or Christmas figurines to add some holiday sparkle.
Now for our last stop. We go north on Brady two blocks to 15th Street to Celebrity Style Wigs, 1506 Brady Street. Turn left onto 15th street and plenty of parking in the lot on your right. Constance is the owner here and her place rocks with every conceivable glitz and glitter accessory. She has a great selection of affordable wigs and hairpieces, extensions and weaves. Then a wide array of clips, headbands, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, scarves… Well you must just stop by and see. Her hours are: Sunday, Monday 9:00 – 5:00, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 – 7:00 and Friday, Saturday 9:00 – 8:00
