PUBLISHER’S CORNER: A New Year… Another Chance to Get It Right

Adams,-Dan-colorBy Dan Adams

Every year we have an opportunity to reflect about the previous one and to set goals for the next. I like what Oprah Winfrey said, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

I believe Oprah is spot on, and I believe anyone can get it right year after year. When preparing to write my goals, I like to read a few quotes to get me in the right frame of mind. These quotes to inspire me to get it right over and over again. I would like to share with you a few of my top reads and hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Cheers to a successful and prosperous 2014.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
– Henry David Thoreau

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”
– Zig Ziglar

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
– C.S. Lewis

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
– Winston Churchill

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
– Thomas Edison

“Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don’t look back at it too long. Mistakes are life’s way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come.”
– Og Mandino

“Chase your passion, not your pension.”
– Denis Waitley

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.”
– Jim Rohn

“Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy.”
– Denis Waitley

“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”
– Albert Einstein

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” – Henry Ford

“The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be the far greater value than what you get.”
– Jim Rohn
