Fridays at Deere-Wiman House Concert

Performing in a Fridays at Deere-Wiman House concert set for 3 p.m. on Friday, March 6, Pianist Joel Fan will
showcase his unique blend of musicianship and engaging personality. Fan re-invents the piano recital by illuminating the rare and unexpected – creating, in the words of Baltimore Sun critic Tim Smith, “one of the most satisfying piano performances I’ve heard.”

With two consecutive Billboard Top 10 Debuts to his credit (for his solo CDs World Keys and West of the Sun), Fan is one of the most dynamic and accomplished musicians touring today. He embraces traditional piano literature as readily as an eclectic repertoire that includes new music
commissioned for him, world music and his own transcriptions. With technical assurance, lyricism and sheer musicality, he wins over audiences wherever he performs. Online at www.joelfanmusic.com.

As a concerto soloist, Fan has performed more than 40 concertos with orchestras worldwide, including the New York Philharmonic, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and the Singapore Symphony. As a recitalist, he has found an enthusiastic following on stages ranging from the Ravinia Festival in Chicago to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

This event is part of the Fridays at Deere-Wiman House series funded by the William Butterworth Foundation and the Quad Cities Arts Visiting Artist Series.
